Weldon Barber of Seattle, along with Aveda, Helps You Give the “Gift of Hope” this Holiday Season.
Aveda and Weldon Barber of Seattle have some wonderful holiday gifts that are bright with hope. Through a unique partnership with Fair Trade Supplier, Hope for Women, Aveda is offering limited edition holiday sets that benefit 400 families in Colombia, while preserving 400 acres of rainforest. Go to the Aveda website to read the entire article, enjoy this video, and read a brief explanation (below) of Gifts Bright With Hope:
In Colombia, the Awa Indians, who live in the foothills of the Andres, and Afro-Colombians of the Pacific Coastal rainforest earn money from gathering tagua nuts that naturally fall to the ground. These nuts are then shipped to women artisans 400 miles away in Bogota, where they are handcrafted into beautiful accessories.
Aveda made the single largest Fair Trade purchase of a sustainably harvested rainforest product in Colombian history. Each Aveda limited-edition Gift of Hope set, it includes a handcrafted tagua nut accessory.
This holiday season enjoy handcrafted, fair trade, eco-friendly products made by economically disadvantaged women in Colombia. You’ll be helping Aveda and the Leading Edge Salon, Santa Rosa support better futures for 400 families and preserve 400 acres of rainforest in Colombia!
